My passion lies in innovation and sustainability, especially in the field of sustainable food production and supply. I once heard someone say that everything starts with food. Or maybe with water. Water is the basis of food. And food is the basis of knowledge. If you do not have food, you cannot learn.

There is still so much to do in the world. That is why we focus on China and the Far East. If we start local food production in greenhouses in the desert or other dry lands, we cannot waste energy and water, but have to start equal.
Our company, our whole country is able to supply a huge contribution in terms of knowledge in such countries and in developing countries. I am convinced that our future economic strength lies in the export of knowledge, for example in the field of water treatment and water technology.

The world isn’t at an end yet
My glass is always half full. I believe that people have a great ability to create something. We ourselves have created the financial crisis, and we can solve it ourselves. People determine for a large extent their own future. The world is not yet finished. In the language of faith, I would say that we are working with the consummation, the completion of the world. We still have a lot to do before the world is in its perfect state.

If we all think together that the world will perish, then that surely will happen. Then we create our own extinction. But if we want it different, then it will be different. A lot has changed in the world already; many good initiatives are taken since the film of Al Gore. The climate is on the agenda, even on the agenda of developing countries. These are things that give me hope. We’re not too late, but we definitely need to make tremendous pace.
